I come from a lineage of chefs, teachers, and advocates. Being a chef speaks to the
love of food and how it builds community. Good teaching on the other hand is an art that
balances kindness and fun with challenge and discipline. Advocacy in education
enables or empowers others to speak for themselves and what they need. These three
roles are essential to me in my capacity as a teacher at TRU because of the impact I
have had in changing the culture for marginalized youth. I have a passion for adult
special education where I can support student success, create flexible and innovative
program delivery, and advocate for diversity and inclusion in our program, on our
campus and in our communities.
We invite scholars, researchers, educators, and graduate students in the field of education to submit proposals for an academic research presentation (online welcome), interactive workshop, panel or round-table discussion, or poster session on courageous and creative practices used in the classroom or other educational settings.
We welcome all kinds of topics related to this theme and more, including but not limited to language teaching, teacher training, primary education, secondary education, technical education, assessment, policy, and more.
Please submit an abstract of no more than 150 words with a title of no more than 15 words by May 15, 2026.
